CRICKET. A meeting of the executive of the Otago Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr Crosby Morris being in the chair. The question of tire finances of the association was discussed at considerable length, and it was decided that the overdraft now owing to the bank be paid off. It was resolved that arrangements be made to play Canterbury at Christchurch during tho Christmas holidays. Auckland at tho New Year, and Wellington on the return from Auckland; tho actual dates of these matches to be left open for the present. A letter was read from the town clerk stating that the charge of £2 2s tor the use of the pavilion on tho Oval had been cancelled, and tho council had decided that the charge be fixed at 25s per team, and that the amount payable by the association would bo £lO. —The letter was received, and it was loft in tho hands of the secretary to arrange. Tho sub-committee appointed to report in re coaching during the coming reason presented its report and recommendations, and it was resolved that a sub-committee be appointed to draw up a letter to the various clubs outlining tho arrangements proposed to bo made, and that the secretary of the association send these letters out at once; and further, that an agreement bo drawn up for execution by the conch. Tho clubs were also to be asked to write confirming the amount guaranteed by each clubs delegate towards the expenses incurred in engaging the coach for the coming season. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of congratulation to Mr G. G. Austin (an old member of the association) on tho occasion of his marriage; and also to Mr J. Shepherd congratulating him on his successes in the recent test matches.
