SALVATION ARMY

This Sunday will be the last Sunday on which Captain and, Mrs MKenzie will Lave chaTge of Dunodin City Corps, they having received instructions to proceed to Christcliurch to take charge of the City Corps. Captain and Mrs M'Kenzie have already done two terms in Dnnedin. They were in charge of the South Dunedia Corps some five years ago, and after spending fourteen months there were transferred to Invercargill. Two years ago they were retransferred to the charge of the Dimedin City Corps, ' and since their arrival have done their very best in tho interests of Dunedin. Mrs M'Kenzie has particularly interested herself in the poorer people of this City, and has become very much attached to them. She lias also spent a good deal of her time among the children, and the effect of her work will bear fruit in the years to follow. The meetings on Sunday will be conducted by the captain himself, and he is most anxious that the day should be long remembered by the soldiers and friends of the Salvation Army in Dunedin. The morning service is particularly set apart for the helping and blessing of Christians, while the evening service will be one of earnest endeavor to make tho unconverted decide for Christ. A special invitation is extended to working men and returned soldiers to be present all day Sunday. A watchnight service, commencing at 11 o'clock to-night, will be conducted by Commandant Inwood, divisional secretary, in tho Salvation Army Hall. King Edward street, South Dunedin. X hearty invitation is extended to all friends to attend. To-morrow the Young People's Corps will hold their annual picnic and outing at the Recreation Grounds, Mosgiel. Scholars are urged to meet at the barracks at 9 a.m. sharp. Refreshments will be provided for the juniors attending the Y.r. Corps. On Sunday farewell meetings will be conducted b3" Captain and Urs Carroll, who, after a term of two years in charge of the South Dunedin Corps, are being transferred to Balclutha. At the morning meeting the dedication of an infant will take place, an-d at the evening service nn enrolment of soldiers will be held.
