Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SUVA, November 20. The Fiji Legislative Council closed' yesterday. The measures passed included the licensing Act, reducing the hours at which hotels may be open from 10 in the morning to 10 "in the evening, and the closing of them on Sundays. The Customs tariff was amended. Most foodstuffs have been placed on the free list, also agricultural machinery. The death gift duties ordinance was passed, increasing the rates. The Income Tax ordinance was amended, providing for a supertax of 20 per cent.' on all company profits exceeding 15 per cent.—A. and "N.Z. Gable.
