(Received November 22, at 9.20 a.m.) Mr John Roscoe, a. prominent scientist, lias returned from a journey into littleknown portions of East Africa, made at the instance of the Royal Society and tho Government. He travelled thousands of miles in the interior afoot and on a bicycle, _ Ho discovered many curious things, including 50 varieties of herbs (some of which appear to effect marvellous cures), native poisons, implements, and instruments antedating 2,000 B.C. He mot tribes.living entirely on milk. They owned enormous herds of cattle. Others existed wholly on bamboo tips and moles, while anotherHri.be considered it good form to' eat their dead and N Z Cable. . ' '
