The average attendances at Ota go schools durinc the three quarters of the present year were placed before the Education Board this morning bv the secretary (Mr S. M. Park), as follow: March June September quarter, quarter, quarter. 1919 20,769 20,194 20,031 1920 20,019 19.652 18.448 Decreases 750 54 1,583 Compared with last year's figures tho attendances this year show a fairly marked decrease, this probably being due to the prevalence of influenza and other minor ailments. As tho staffing of schools is affected by the average attendance, the Education Board have decided to ask the department to mako no decrease in the staffs of schools unless the roll number is seriously below that of the previous year.
