(Received June 2, at 9.15 a.m.) Tho election campaign for the Reichstag is being characterised by much rioting in various centres. Von Gracfe, a wellknown Conservative deputy, was brutally ill-treated at a meeting in Mecklenburg (fronting the Baltic, between Holstein, and Pomerania), where tho tension was exceptionally great. Several landowners and their families have fled thence to Berlin. It is reported that the agricultural laborers are plotting to expel the landlords and divide their estates. The Government have promulgated an edict forbidding private enlistment in any new military corps, the penalty being five years' imprisonment.
