THOMSON'S FACTORY

_ CROWDS VISITING IT. The expectation that a large number of people would lake advantage of Messrs Thomson and Co.'s invitation to inspect tho firm's cordial and carbonated water factory lias 'ten amply justified. Early yesterday morning interested visitors commenced to appear, and quite a steady stream kept coming and going right lip 10 half-Bait 9. The I'urity 'Hydro bottle-washing machine was the first to attract attention, end the able manner with which it cleans, jsttrilises, and rinses 3.C00 bottles an hour was it-eely commented upon. This machine, we might- fay, was invented by the ium for the simple reason that it was impossible to obtain either in New Zealand or anywhere else a machine that would effectively wash and thoroughly sterilise a bottle. An illustration of its effectiveness may be judged from the fact thai four sisters to the Purity Hvdro havo Iwen sold in Xe.\v Zealand already, notwithstanding that they come into competition with latest inventions by British and foreign bottle-washing machinery manufacturers. Other machines that aroused the interest of the delighted onlookers are the four automatic fillers and ciwners. These machines automatically extract the air from the bottles, syrup, fill, and seal them at tho rate of' 120 dozen per hour each. The labelling machines, which can place upon tho bottles one, two, or three labels of different shapes and sizes m one operation at the vate'of 120 dozen an hour each, also attracted much attention. The factory will be open for inspection this evening from 7 to 9.'00, and to-morrow from 9 to 12 in the morning, 1 to 5 in the afternoon, and 7 to 9.30 in the evening. On Thursday, the Kina's Birthday, the factory will he closed all day, but on Friday the hours will be same "as tomorrow. Saturday, 9 t« 12 in the morning only. Needless to add, the" firm will be glad to show- visitors over all tho premises and explain the various points of interest of the different machines.—[Advt.]
