TRINITY BAND OF HOPE

Tho above band opened t-hear 1920 session on Saturday last, when there was a largo attendance of children and their parents. The Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt occupied tho chair. During the evening short addresses were given by Air Pratt, Mr Wilkinson, and the secretary of the Rand of Hope Union (Mr' AY. H. Hiett), emphasising the- need of educating the children on the effects of intemperance. The programme, which was contributed by past and present members, assisted by friends, was very enjoyable, and encores were numerous. The following is a list of those who took part:—Pianoforte solo, Miss Whitely; action song, juniors; recitations, Miss Milk, Miss A. Cjynpbell, Miss V. Lamb, Miss Thomas, and Miss Smith; solos, Mr Blackwood and Miss B. Khoperd and Miss D. Zaffer. duet, Misses Olive and Rita Mason. At the close of the concert Mr J. Gilchrist showed his ability as a ventriloquist, when, with the aid of-his doll “Jerry,” he kept the audience in roars of laughter. Misses V. Miller and D. Stokes acted as accompanists.
