MIDDLEMARCH SHOW

The Strath Taieri A, and P. Society’s show ye&tevdUy was highly successful, there being record entries and keen competition, added to which the fine weather drew a very large attendance.

The most successful exhibitors in the sheep classes were F. Atkinson, F. and H. Moynihan. AV. Moynihan, AV. Heffernan and Sous, and J. M. Beattie. •

In the cattle section first awards were secured by F. James, -P. IvFFadyen, F. Moynihan, 0. Paterson, jun.. Henry Tisdall, T. H. Pugh, AY. D, Mason. *E. j. Docherty, AA T . Robertson, R. B. Fowler, D. Menton, W. Moynihan, J. M. Beattie, and D. AVinter.

"There was a good entry of draught horses. Successful competitors were °T. 'Carruthers, John Tisdall, Henry Tisdall. A. Carruthers, R. N. Elliott, AV. Movnihan. For. thoroughbreds E. J. Docherty was awarded a first asd second ticket. Hackneys and carriage horses were well represented, first prizes being seeured-by John Tisdall, Pi. J. Docherty, Airs F. J. Conn. John Turnbull, sen . F. James and AV. J. Newman. AV Hast to won the High Jump, J. H. Bruhns the Ponv Trot Handicap, J. Peat'the Stockman’s" Race, K. J. Spratt the Pony Trot. John Keast secured first prize for roughcoated collies, and J. H. Bruhns for smooth-coated collies.

The entry for pigs was small, James Armstrong taking most of the awards, though F. Moynihan and D. Menton each secured a first prize. There was a, fine display of farm produce. field roots, wool, bread, and daixy .produce.
