COOKED FOOD DELIVERY.

" TO TBTB EDITOR. Sir, —Re the cooked food delivery, I take it’that no one is compelled to patronise the scheme. In fact, I understand that the number of dinners which it is intended to deliver is at present limited, so that . the working man’s wife need no fear, that- ■ she will have these delivered against her will. It is a trial scheme, and although the prices charged for the delivered dinners may be higher tixan some can afford, yet it must be remembered that there are all classee to be considered. It is not only the working man’s wife who is feeling the stress and strain of overwork and battling with tho high Cost- of Living, but the business and professional man’s wife also. 1 This is a co-operative scheme, and may eventually embrace all classes, if it is not utterly crushed by the “ I’m agin it ” people. This is not a money-making concern, so I understand; therefore the greater the number of patrons the lower will be the cost of the dinners. I am of tho opinion that it is only a matter of time when the private kitchen will be entirelv ousted from the home, and along with it a good deal of unnecessary drudgery, waste, and uncleanness. But this will only be when men and women are sufficiently evolved to know that they are here for the "00d of the community, and not merely for “ me and my wife, our Jack and his wife, us four and no more, Amen.”— lam, etc., Not a Gook.
