XO THE EUITOB. Sir,—rin Saturday night’s issue of your paper we notice, according to the report of the Otago Harbor Board's meeting, thatall yachts and motor boats pay £1 a year towards additional revenue for the board. - TU* seems a very unfair proposition to th* ■ owners of .yachts and small boats, who, we think, nave already enough exJ* 00 *® 1°- paying for slips and sheds which are already taxed by the Harbor‘Board. We should like to know what tho Harbor Board intend to do in return for this taxation, as at the present time we derive no benefits from the board, while the Dunedin. yachtsmen are provided with a fine boat harbor which shelters their boats and property from all weathers. We should also like to know how a man with a fleet of email boats for hire would derive any benefit. Now he has to pay many dues to tho Harbor Board, and this proposed scheme would considerably reduce bis income.—We are, etc., JtoET Chalm, ehs Yachtsmen. ?Ptot Chalmers, March 29.
