OBITUARY
GRANDSON OF NELSON'S HARDY. [Per United Press Association.! GISBORNE, March 29. Captain A. F. Hardy, aged 80 years, a grandson of Sir Thos. Hardy, one of Nelson's famous captains at Trafalgar, is dead. Deceased has been resident m Gisbome district for 50 years. He saw service in the Maori War. Our Christchurch special advises that Mr John Bushel', postmaster at Kaiapoi, , died yesterday, aged 52 years. He was born at Lawrence, and commenced his career a3 a postal official in the Dunedin district. Later he was in the Telegraph j Office, Dunedin, and was in charge of Sydenham Post Office for some years until his promotion to Kaiapoi a fe\v months ; ago. He was a very popular publio offiI cer. Deceased is survived by his widow and one son. A London cablegram announces the death, at the advanced age of 75 years, of the Right Rev. John William Diggle, D.D., who had been Bishop of Carlisle since 1904. The death occurred at Tasmania recently, from heart disease, of the Rev. W. Sharp, for many years a highly respected resident of Timaru, and father of Dr Stanley Sharp, of Otaki. The Rev. Mr Sharp_ was a Congregational minister, and left Timaru to become pastor of the Memorial Congregational Church, Hobart, where he remained for about oO years.
