Messrs Donald Heidi and Co., Ltd., re- ! port as follows:—'We held our usual sale j to-day, and report as under: — I Oats.—Conditions remain as advised last j week. Stocks in store are low, and arrivals from the country small. Offerings on trucks are increasing, but farmers are. very firm in their ideas of value, and are asking prices "which shippers cannot give. The volume of business passing is consequently small. We quote: Milling Gartons. 5s sd; A Gartons, 5s 2d: good to best feed, 4s 1(M to ss, all ex stare (sacks extra). Wheat.—All lots offering are readily taken by millers at full rates. Chaff.—Arrivals continue small, and last -week's values are well maintained. A ! fairly large quantity has been purchased in the country for" delivery next month and May. We quote to-d'-iv: Best, £8 ss; good, £7 15s to £8; medium, £7 10s, ex store (sacks extra). Potatoes.—The arrivals' have fallen off, no doubt being due to farmers being busily engaged harvesting. The market may he quoted a little firmer. We quote up to £3 10s for freshlv due; good sound, £B, ex stare, sacks in. ° Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report- as fellows : Oats.—There has been a good inquiry of late from millers for good heavy lines suitable for their requirements. Only a moderate quantity is offering, and other descriptions are meeting ready sale at quotations. Sparrowbills and other short oats are finding a ready outlet for local fowl feed requirements in the absence of fowl wheat. We quote : Prime milling to 5s 3d ; other hne s T>f A grade quality to 5s 2d ; good to best feed 4s lOd to ss; medium, 4s 6d to 4s 9d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—All offering is being accepted by millers at maximum Government rates. Fowl wheat is practically unprocurable and keenly sought after. Potatoes.—Supplies have eased off during the past week, and the market is much steadier; values show a firmer tendency. Best quality freshly-dug samples are in most demand : medium Quality and faulty lots are not in favor with buyers. We quote: Best freshly-lifted lots up to £8 10s ; medium to good, £7 to £8; others from £6 per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—Consignments have fallen off during the past week, the quantity arriving being below requirements, with the result that all coming to hand has met an improved demand at enhanced prices. We quote : itest oaten sheaf. £8 5s ; good, £7 16s to £8; medium, £6 to £7 per ton (sacks extra).
