AUCKLAND v. TARANAKI. The Auckland tennis representatives defeated Taranaki yesterday by 16 matches to 3. There were many close contests, although Auckland annexed so many of the matches. OTAGO ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the committee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, Mr A. E. Harraway presiding. The Maniptoto County Committee wrote stating that five clubs in that- locality were joining the association.—lt was agreed that these clubs be affiliated. The Southland. Association wrote stating that in deference to the Otago Association, they had decided to put off their tournament until next Christmas.—lt was resolved to write to the Southland Association expressing the association's appreciation of their action. It was resolved to apply for the uso of the St Ki'.da courts in connection with the Easter tournament, so that, if necessary, these courts could be used. Tha secretary submitted a list of entries. Tha committee expressed their appreciation at the large number received, especially as the entries came from as far north as Wellington- and as far south as the Bluff, • and included several of New Zealand's best players. It was resolved that, in connection with, the C trrade matches, which wer» interrupted by rain last Saturdav, clubs arrange mutually to conclude these matches. It was decided to place on record the association's appreciation of both the local papers for their excellent reports of the isntisb team's matches.
