COMMITTEE REPORTS.
The Works, Water, and Lighting Committee reported having received a letter from_ Mr H. C. Campbell complaining of the inadequate water supply, which was received. Also, of having 'given instructions that the footpaths with cinders on be rolled.
The report was adopted. The Finance, General, Tramways, and Hall _Committee reported accepting an invitation to the annual meeting of the Workers' Educational Association, . receiving a letter from Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P.. re the parliamentary party visiting Westport, and asked that various accounts be passed for payment.—This was done, and the report adopted. At the committee meetings on the 16th hist, resolutions of were passed with Cr Smeaton in'his recent .-nd bereavement.
GENERAL
Crs Campbell and Densem reported tl-i they had waited on the Water Commit!." of the City Council, urging that a beUer and adequate water simply should be givento the borough. The committee had promised to do nil in their power to comply with' the deputation's wishes.
