EMPIRE THEATRE
The new programme at the Empire Theatre to-day has as its leading attraction a Haworth, production. ' Tho Courageous Coward,' featuring Sessne Ilayakawa. Snki, an American-born Japanese, is educated by Tangi, his guardian. He is a bright young man, and gives promise of developing into a fine lawyer. Tangi brings his niece Bei to America front Japan. She and Sulci wall in love, and when tho latter departs for an eastern university to complete his studies it is fond memories of the girl he loves that ho takes with him. Suki makes a record nt college, not only in law studies, but in athletics as well. Eei sees a picture of him on the tennis courts with r.n American girl as partner, and believing that he- appreciates this type of woman, Eoi sets about to Americanise herself fa to clrtSios and habits, and so begins the drama of thrills and romance. Eventually everything ends happily, and the Easterners settle down to lead a happy existence in the land of the West.
