ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
ANOTHER TAXI FATALITY.
[Per Uneted Peess Association.] AUCKLAND, September 16. A widow woman, Mrs Bafferty, residing in Mount Eden crossing, Kyber Pass road, last night wa.s knocked down, by a. taxi driven by B. G. Hatcher, and died in the hospital. The driver did not see the deceased until lis was very close to her.
Arthur Stokes, in Highgate, Moon Hill, and employed by Messrs Hudson and Co., was admitted to the Hospital yesterday suffering- from a broken left arm sustained by falling from a ladder while mending a strap. Advice received at Auckland from Ponui Island states that J. Howard, a married man, residing at Parnell, fell from a launch and was drowned. The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald fell and broke his arm last evening when leaving the Parliamentary Buildings, Wellington. Frank Woods, aged 38, a returned soldier, slipped while coining down some steps in Moray place, injured bis foot. He was admitted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon, and is reported to be progressing favorably.
