THE CITY MISSION

A meeting of the committee of the Dunedin City Mission was attended by Messrs Peter Barr (in the chair). E. Rose--veax, W. T. Taiboys, Will. -J. Love, John Barnes, H. Renfree. and I). Wright. Tho hon. treasurer (Mr Rosevear) reported a long list of donations, etc., amounting to over IHOO from a sympathiser of the mission, late deceased. The missionary (Mr D. Wright) laid on the table a detailed report of visitation to old and sick people in most of tho suburbs and in the City. He gave interesting figure* concerning tha classes for Bible instruction, now ifi their 24th year. The averages for this y-m- have in—every instance been most satisfactory. He also noted that whilst boasting would be unworthy of the cause two things might be noted : (1) That in all the five schools visited the attendances wero better now than they were 24 years ago: (2) no agent or agency could show a- similar record. The missionary bad -assisted in Sunday and -week-day services (in dliferent -denominations) at Caversham, Stuart Street Hall, "Woodside (in memoriam. service in connection with the death of Mrs James Fultnn), Port- Chalmers, Ross Home, North-east Valley, and Opoho.
