Au old Scottish, minister on special occasions always need to preach a sermon taken -from‘the text, “Were not two sparrows sold for a farthing?” When one of his most devoted church workers was leaving the placa the minister preached the old familiar sermon on the Sunday previous to his departure. In course of time the man returned to his native place, and, croiiig to church the first Sunday after his return, was net a little surprised to hear the same old text announced. When the service was over the minister beckoned liixn into the vestry and chatted about the many changes that had occurred during his 'absence. “ I notice there is one thing that has not changed, sir,” said the man, “And what is that?” inquired the minister. “The price of sparrows was the reply.
