At the Kent Assizes Mr Justice Darling spoke strongly on the laxity of views held by many regarding marriage. “People,” he said, “are coming to look upon the marriage contract as no more binding than a dinner engagement. Hundreds ar© being divorced daily. I have had 18 cases of bigamy in one day.”
