THE LATE SIR JOHN M’COLL.

TO TUB EDITOU. Sir, —The cables announce the ■death of Six’ John M'Coll, Agent-General for Tasmania, which brings to one’s memory the interesting fact that both the late AgentGeneral awl bis father occupied seats in the Tn-irnaftiian Parliament at the same time, the first as a member of the House of Assembly, and the last as a member of the Legislative Council. Generally speaking, in regard 1 to these Dominions, it is ■rather uncommon that father and son should bo members of different branches of the Legislature at the same period. I might add that both those honorable gentlemen were personally popular.—l am, etc., Etvwott Stanmteux July 1.
