The course was heavy. . ... ~ The judicial stewards inquired into the cause of Red Admiral falling in the Winter Welter Handicap on Tuesday, and after hearing statements from R. M Julian (the rider), I. C. Tilson, and W\ Robinson (whoever© on Wild Pilgrim and Kilkeo respectively), were- satysbed that the accident was caused through Red Admiral's rider letting him run on the heels of the horso in front. The stewards admonished M'Lellan, warning him to use moro caution in future. Morecambe has been bought by Mr hj. C. Hazlett. ..

Ruthven). , A perfect start, but Barrister very slow to move. Ladv . Links showed tho way over the first furlong from Cannie Jack. There was no alteration at the six-furlong post. Gohv to the far corner Lady Links was half a length ahead of Mirza, Moneymusk lying third, and Braid fourth. At the top" of the hill Glenshine was second last. At the turn into the straight Moneymusk (on the outside), Braid, and Mirza were almost on terms with Lady Links. In the run home Braid won by a short neck from Glenshine. Mirza three lengths away, Lady Links fourth, and Lady Superior fifth! Time lmin Slfsec.

High-water and Burrangong were the first to break the line, C-iaverhouse being left. Going to the turn Highwater was a length clear of Samiel, Burrangong and Tin 'Soldier lying next. Entering the back stretch "Highwater led Samiel a length and a-half, Burrangong being, a length away and half a length ahead of Tin Soldier" At the far turn Highwater was still a length in front of Samiel, Burrangong a similar distutice away, just in front of Claverhouso and Tin Soldier. Coming up the hill Samiel got on terms with Highwater, the pair running together two lengths ahead of the field. At the distance* pos.t Samiel was in front, and ran home an easy winner by a length and a. quarter, Burrangong next, Eleus two lengths away, then Highwater and Claverhouso, John Barleycorn last. Easton), 7 Silver Shield (carried 9.2, G. Fielding), 8 Wild Pilgrim (9.0, J. M'Chesney). When the field settled down Palisade showed the way to the first fence from Naupata and Compulsion. Compulsion outjumped Naupata at the fence, and led for a brief space, Palisade regaining the lead going for the next fence. Here ho jumped badly and lost his position to Jeannot, Compulsion, and Vascular. Compulsion and Jeannot jumped the hurdle at the distance on terms just in front of Vascular and Naupata, Wild Pilgrim last. By the time the stand was reached Palisade, jumping badly, had dropped back last. Sir Medalist, Compulsion, and Jeannot jumped the hurdle at the mile almost on terms, but Sir Medallist fell. Entering the back stretch Jeannot was showing clear from Compulsion, Naupata running into second place at the next fence, which the latter struck. Going up the hill Naupata, Jeannot, and Vascular were well clear of the field, Calma running fourth, and at tho turn for home Jeannot led Naupata, with Vascular on his quarters. In tho mn homo Naupata faltered just before reaching the post, losing a little ground, and Jeannot winning by a short head. Compulsion was four lengths away, and Calma just beat Vascular for third money. Silver Shield was fifth, and Wild Pilgrim sixth. Time, 3min 54Jsec. Kilboyne got the best of a moving-in start, and led Glensponse and Benefit. At the end of a furlong Benefit had taken charge, and led up the hill from Glensponse, Kilboyne, and Sle-apy Head. Turning for homo Benefit still had charge from Glensponse and Sleepy Head. At tho distanco .post R«dshire came through, and just lasted long enough to win by a nose, Kilmeedy a neck away, then Sleepy Head and Glensponse. Tims, lmin 16£ sec.

Also started : 7 Stone Ginger (12.2, A. M'Mullan), 4 Paremata (10.5, J. Tilsloy), 6 Nita (10.5, A. Lawrence), -2 Bollin (10.5, H. Cokor). Nita allowed the way from Bollin and Silverspire over the first fence, Stono Ginger and Kaupokomu last. At the post-and-rails Bollin was ahead of _ Palladio, three lengths away from Silverspire, Coming to the stand double Silverspire led Palladio and Nita, and was in front of the field going to the post-and-rails after the sod wall. Kaupokonui nearly fell at this fence. At the next sod wall ■Silverspire and Palladio were five lengths ahead of Bollin, who was a similar dis-, tance ahead of Nita and Kaupokonui, Stone Ginger beaten off. At the big poat-and-raik the favorite was still in front, Palladio and Nita falling. At the water jump Kaupokonui went- into third place, and at the brush fence was three lengths behind Silverspire, with Palladio and Paremata almost on terms. In the run home the favorite cantered _in an easy winner by four lengths, with Palladio third, and Paremata 10 lengths away fourth. Bollin and Stone Ginger were the other two to finish.
