- YESTERDAY'S RESULTS. [Special to the ' Stab.'] CHRISTCHURCH. May 7. _ _lhe following are yesterday's competition results:—' Piano Solo :—Miss Purdie (Kaiapoi) 144 ■points, 1; Miss Elva Barker (Dunedin) 141 points, 2. The judge said that both prize winners gave charming performances. Miss Hazel Johnson (Dunedin) was third iu the action recitation under 12, own selection. She was only three points behind the winner. Miss Fay Smyth (Wellington), and. Mollis Andrews (Dunedin) competed unsuccessfully. In tht- humorous recitation under 16, Misses Madge M'Cieury, Mol'ie Hudson, ami .Vol Ho Williamson ('l)uiiediit) were unplace' 1. In the recitation for ladies. Miss Vera White (Duncdin) was second to Miss Zita Chapman (Wellington). Iu the sacred solo, mezzo-soprano, own selection. .Mrs Herbert Burrow (Dunedin) is amon" the recalls with 'How Lovely are the Dwellings.' Misses Muriel Jacobs jThmediu) and Eispeth Denholm (Oamaru) competed unsuccessfully.
