(Receiv&d May 7, at 11 a.m.) Competition was less keen for Bheepskins, of which 10.700 were offered at auction, nearly all being sold. for fiiio cross-breds and good combings were on a par with those at last allocation, but faulty lots were cheaper. A fair quantity of Bitins was bought for France and Belgium, but most were secured for the home trade. STOCK EXCHANGE ACTIVE. LONDON, May 6. (Received May 7, at 11 a.m.) The Stock Exchange is buoyant, and business is brisk in most industrial shares, ebpecially rubbers and oils; but Government stocks are quiet. Consols arc quoted at £65 2s 6d. COMMONWEALTH BANK. MELBOURNE, May 7. (Received May 7, at 10.5 a.m.) The Commonwealth note issue is now £55,913,722, and the gold reserve is £24,366,015.
