MAORI HILL BAND CONCERT
The Maori Hill Band gave a verv successtul concert in the Coronation Hall last evening. The attendance was not so good as on previous occasions, but was quite satisfactory. Those left behind would carry on to the best of their ability until their comrades returned. The following musical programme was submitted, most of the performers being enthusiastically recalled. Songs: Misses Annie Wilson, Madge Torrance, Alma Finnerty and Messrs W. H. M'Kenzie and a. Walls. Recitations: Miss Bessie Thomson and Air J. Collier. Aliss Bessie Todd rendered a violin solo most acceptably. The band contributed two selections: ' Beauties of Ireland' and * Old Memones,' in a manner which reflected great credit on both the conductor and members. The hearty applause which loilowed on each occasion was ample proof that the band might have figured more prominently on the programme with advantage. A cornet quartet by four members of the Salvation Army Band (Alessrs O. Judd, A. Gould, J. Canty, and E. Colvui) was a most pleasing item, and was well received. Mr A. *M. Hope played the accompaniments. After the concert a dance was held, and many of those present enjoyed themselves at this pastime lor several hours.
