MINISTERS’ MOVEMENTS

The Right Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister) yesterday afternoon went out to South.bridga and inspected, the Homebrook Estate of 1,130 acres, which the Government have acquired for the settlement of soldiers. Mr Massey reaches Dunedin by the second express (9.25) to-night, and will probably proceed to Central Otago to-morrow.

Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, Minister of Finance, accompanied by his private secretary, Mr H". O. Browne, arrived in Dunedin last night. To-day the Minister attended the funeral of Mr 0. Parata, M.P. (Southern Maori), and returned to town in the evening. To-morrow Sir Joseph leaves for Wellington. Sir James Allen, Minister of Defence, will be in Dunedin next week on. his way to Southland on departmental business.
