ELGIN ROAD TRAMWAY
CUT COUNCIL ASKED TO RECONSIDER. [From Ouk Reporteii.] WELLINGTON, October 19. As regards the report of Mr Bartholomew, who as a Commissioner inquired into the dispute over the Dunedin City Council s decision to remove Elgin road tramway rails, the Minister of Public Works has sent it back to the Citv Council for reconsideration. The Commissioner recommended that tho matter be reconsidered, and, in view of this, the Hon. Mr Eraser declines to agree to the council lifting the lino, and asks them to reconsider the whole matter.
