NEW ZEALAND PRISONERS OF WAR.
SIR THOMAS MACKENZIE TAKES CHARGE, [Per United Prkss Association.]
WELLINGTON, October 9. It is officially announced that the High Commissioner m London has now formed a Prisoners' War Department, taking over the work formerly performed by the Central Prisoners' War Committee on behalf of New Zealanders. The newly-formed New Zealand department thus takes control of all New Zealanders who are prisoners of war, no matter what forces they belong to. It is only in isolated cases that prisoners of war belonging to other than New Zealand forces, are, and then with tho consent of their next of kin, cared for by the Central Prisoners' War Committee, and not by the New Zealand Prisoners' War Department. All money order telegrams and money orders in connection with the purchase of food or clothing for New Zealand prisoners of war should be forwarded to the High Commissioner for New Zealand, and not to the Central Prisoners' War Committee, as in the past.
