"BLOODTHIRSTY" HAIG. A LYING STATEMENT. ' LONDON, October 7. The German General Staff have issued a communique in an attempt to allay German uneasiness. It states: There is axmovement in Great Britain against the bloodiness of Sir D. Haig's war methods, as a result of a protest from Australia and New Zealand against tho heavy losses of the Anzacs in the recent fighting. A mitigation of the severity of the Flanders warfare is therefore to bo expected. To this the reply is that no such movement in Great Britain. The An-~ zacs' losses were not disproportionate, and the complaints alleged have not been made.
