HOTEL HOURS

NO HOPE FOR "SIX O'CLOCK." [From Our Parliamentary. Reporter.] WELLINGTON, August 29. The War Regulations Bill, dealing with the restriction of the sale of liquor during the war, wjjl be the next important legislative proposal to come before Parliament. It were futile to anticipate the 6 o'clock closing of hotel bare. Even those members of the House who.have spoken so definitely about tho "irreducible minimum" _ have practically given up hop© of carrying 6 o'clock. They now recognise the need for compromise, and are not very confident ot securing a majority in favor of 7 o clock closing. The Bill will almost certainly propose the sale of liquor only between 9 a.m. and 7.50 p.m., and this proposal will have a very good chance of final acceptance.
