RUGBY FOOTBALL
At Carisbrook on Saturday the Pirates and University A will meet As these two teams are equal for the A Grade competition, this match will be the deciding factor in the A Grade competition. The Pirates have not been at the top of the tree aince 1886, and. they are leaving no stone unturned to be the premier toam this year, and are putting in hard training every night this week. They possess a ffne forward division, and their backs handle the ball well and have plenty of pace. The 'Varsity have been showing splendid form of late; their backs are a very speedy lot, who pass in great style, and some of the games put up by this team of late have been gnite up to the standard of past 'Varsity_ teams. The display of passing given against Southern a fortnight ago was very fine, being accu-rate-and crisp. The public are assured ■of witnessing a high-class exhibition of Rugby on Saturday. It is hoped they will turn out in large numbers to see this game. / ■
