A memorial of an imposing design, winch has been erected in the Waikararaka Cemotery (Auckland), where veterans of the Maori Wars are buried, was unveiled yesterday by the Governor. It bears 'the records of 52 veterans. Lord Liverpool remarked that the volunteers who fought with the regulars in the Maori Wars displayed the same Imperial spirit as actuated thousands of young manhood at the present day. At an adjourned meeting of the recentlyformed Otago Fruitgrowers’ Association last evening, Mr A. Moritzson presiding, the rules of the association, under the IndustriaL Act of ISOS, were adopted, and it was decided to register at once and affiliate with tho New Zealand' Fruitgrowers’ Association. Tho following office -bearers were elected:—President, Mr A. Moritzson; secretary, Mr J. Geeiin ; treasurer, Mr E. Aslin; committee—Messrs E. C. Reynolds, G. M. Marshall, F. G. Duncan, J. H. Hinton.
