CITY POLICE COURT. (Before J. R. Bartholomew, Esq., S.M.) Drunken Offences.—A first offender, who had been on remand for medical treatment, was convicted and ordered to pay expenses incurred (£1 16s), in default seven days’ imprisonment.—Another first offender, im old ago pensioner, was convicted and discharged. —Herbert William Harris pleaded guilty to drunkenness, to breach of prohibition, and said he did nob remember the use of obscene language.—Constable Samson said the man was .mad drunk.—'The Sub-inspector said he wa 3 a drunken waster, who had been convicted of drunkenness and playing ‘' two-up.” —For drunkenness he was fined 12s, in default 43 hours; for breach of the order, 20s in default seven days; and for the'use of obscene language, 40s, in default 14 days.
