At a meeting of the Committees of "Vu’iiapment held this morning it was decided tliat the memorial to the late Chief Inspector Richardson take the p l aca of a tombstone, any balance to be dealt with at asubsequent meeting. It was decided to affirm the principle embodied in any daysaving movement, but another remit tor consideration sent down by the N.Z.E.I. that the Government he approached to grant war increments was shelved in favor of another resolution to the effect that ways and means he found to reduce the cost of living, it was decided to hold the annual meeting in the Winter Show week, and to ask the Education Board to make the term holidays synchronise, to give country teachers the opportunity of attending. Tim annual meeting will be an important one, owing to the changes made in the constitution of branches. The rates, of subscription will come up for discussion, the question of forming independent institutes with a central committee, to secure unitv of action, and other questions of importance .will need to be discussed.
