Before the Military Service Board to-day, Tho Commissioner of Police appea'ed on behalf of four constables, one .sergeant, and a detective-sergeant. It was intended to take on some men for temporary sendee, but they would rot come under the operation of tho ballot Several members were approaching the retirement age. Tho cases were adjourned without a data being fixed, provided the appellants remain in their present employment.
