THOROUGHBRED YOUNG STOCK. The Waimana. which reached Wellington this week, brought 11 thoroughbreds from England consigned to Mr J. G. Duncan, of Waikanae. The shipment comprised three colts and eight fillies, all of will be yearlings on January 1 next. Four of the youngsters are *by Maraja, two by Bona 'Rosa, and two by Forfarshire. , The Melbourne '.Argus " thus refers to the first success of Two Lights, owned by Mr M. C. O'Connell, of Masterton, at Werribee, on October 25. Ah there were 31 acceptors for the Werribee Third Division Handicap, it was decided to provide another stake of £SO, and to run the event in two divisions, the odd numbers on the card taking part in the first and the even numbers in Hie second race. There wero 17 starters for the first race, and only two were backed "for money" —Trencho and Two Lights. The start was again straggling. Puff Paste was first off, but Two Lights soon worked his way to the 'front, and he was never afterwards headed. Bobilda finished well, but Two Lights easily held her, and won by half a length. The winner is trained at Caulfield by M. T. M'Grath (who used to havo Wallalo), and is by Grafton from Twilight, by Cobbity from Slumber, by Trenton, so beldngs to the same family as Wakeful and other noted horses. Two Lights has raced in New Zealand. P. M'Grath rode Two Lights. H. Cairns, an ex-New Zealander, had the mount on Audelosia, winner of the Moonee Valley Cup.
