OTAGO AND WAITAKI: HIGH SCHOOLS’ QUARREL.
At this afternoon’s meeting of the Board'of Governors of tho Otago Boys’ ant! Girls’ High Schools a resolution was brought forward to heal the breach that has ’existed between the Otago Boys’ High School-and,-tho Waitaki College for siv years. Dr Fulton moved—“ That the board regret that Waitaki High School, one of the great schools of tile Dominion and our nearest neighbor, was not represented in the recent football tournament, and wish to know whether the rector van suggest a means of settlement of llu; apparent difference between the two schools. The board feel that the 'present is a'most opportune tinie for the schools to sink their differences and to hold out tlie hand of friendship to each other, many Old Boys of l:-olh schoois having laid down their live? side by side for King and Empire in the vieat struggle which at present convulses the civilised world; and that the matter bo referred tc a committee of the whole board, and the rector asked to meet the committee to confer on the subject.”—This resolution was carried.
