The Plaintiffs seek to recover from the Defendant the sum of TEN POUNDS FIFTEEN SHILLINGS AND SEYENPENCE 1 (£lO 15s 7d), amount of rates due by the Defendant to the Plaintiffs, with additional charge of 10 per cent, under Section 28 of .A, “The Rating Act Amendment Act, 1910,” I as in the particulars hereunto attached. 2. The Council of the said Borough duly made and levied the rates mentioned in the said particulars. 3. The Defendant is the owner of the rateable property mentioned in the said particulars. 4. The said owner has no known agent in New Zealand. 5. A demand was duly made on the defendant for the said rates by posting the same to his last known address—namely. Post Office, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, and default was made for fourteen days thereafter. Examination of candidates for CERTIFICATES as First Class and Second Class Mine Managers and Battery, Superintendents under the. Mining Act, 1908', and First and Second Class Mine Managers under the Coal Mines Act, 1908, will bo hold on TUESDAY, 12th December, 1916, and following days, at Thames, Waihi, Eeefton, and Dunedin.
