-MR FLEMING RE-ELECTED CT-Ulli-MAN. SCHOOL GRANT, £15,144. The first meeting of the newly-const! tuted Education Board of Otago was held this morning, and attended by Messrs D. Borne, G. The Education Department intimated that the ordinary grant for school buildings would be £13,144. an advance over last year of £517. Mr D. T. The architect recommended in reference to Kaikorai School that a retiring room be provided at the school; that improvements be made to the ventilation of the gymnasium; that the interior of the teacher’s residence be renovated ; that the fencing l*o repaired.—Agreed to. The total involved was £75.
