PAHIATUA, April 18. The Mangamutu Post Office store, neas Pahiatua, with the contents, was totally destroyed by fire last night. Tho causa of the fire was the upsetting of a tin of methylated spirits. Fire two years ago destroyed the building previously erected on this spot.

„ , NAPIER. April 18. Madame Eoeufre and Miss Beatrice Day, of the Anti-German League, addressed a meeting of 700 people in tho municipal theatre. Mr Vigor Brown, M.P., presided. The followine motion was enthusiastically carried :—"That this meeting are of opinion that the Government erred in allowing Lieutenant Grlereon to wear the King's uniform and return to camp after disclosures revealed at the recent Commission "
