The Chairman, in presenting to Mr Gall a tea and coffee service, made eulogistic remarks relative to the faithful services of Mr Gall, and further stated that he sincerely hoped that (heir late secretary would again enjoy the best, of health which unfortunately of late years he had not had the privilege of having. Though lie had retired from active service they desired that lie would, from timo to time, give to the company some of his valuable knowledge that lie had acquired during bygone years, and by so doing still render to them much valuable assistance in the piloting of the company's affairs. In reply, (Mr Gall stated how sorry ho v, as to leave the firm he had so long been associated with. Very reluctantly ho was compelled to tender his resignation through declining health and strength. His relationship with tho directors of the company, as well as with all the employees, had always been a happy one, and he was glad to know that ho had been of some assistance to them during many strenuous times which the company had had to face. Mr Gall intimated that when a vacancy occurred on the directorate ho would be an applicant for that position, and were lie successful ho could then further give much help and guidance to the company.
