The Tonga riro, general cargo from Liverpool, arrived here yesterday morning. While in Lyttelton she loaded a quantity of cargo for Home, on behalf of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Kamona sailed from Port Chalmers on Saturday evening for Wellington. The Kotaro is under overhaul in (lie Port Chalmers dock. The Waipori leaves Newcastle at the end of the week for Bluff and Dunedin. The Tarawera arrived here yesterday evening from Auckland via ports, and will leave again to-morrow on the. return journey. The Kaitangata loads timber at Greymouth next week for Melbourne and Adelaide. The Kini left Westport early yesterday morning for Oamaru and Duned"in. The Kittawa is expected to leave Greymonth to-night for Oamaru and Dunediii. The Kowhai is due on Wednesday from Bluff, and leaves same day for Oamaru, Tiniaru. Napier, and Gisborne. The Corinna leaves to-night for New Plymouth via ports. The Kaituna left Newcastle on Saturday for Timaru. The Flora, is due. at Port Chalmers tomorrow from Bluff. The Turakina left Teneriffe on Wednesday for New Zealand. Captain A. Hunter Purvis, of the Anchor Company, has joined the Union Company's service. The. barqucntinc Alexa, lying at tho former N.D.L. wharf. Circular Quay, has attracted special attention, savs the Sydnev •Morning Herald.' An extra item 'of interest is the flag flying at the foremast, which consists of horizontal stripes of red. yellow, blue, white, and black.
