To-morrow, with ficwers from every part of ISew Zealand, onr streets will assume the gaiety of spring, and it. is hoped the efforts of the Otago Women's Patriotic Association will be productive of the sum armed at for the leather waistcoats for onr boys and Italian Red Cross. Everything points to a most successful outcome, and given fine weather the ladies collecting anticipate good business. Golden hearts" each of which is equivalent- to one waistcoat, are on sale at 5s at- anv of the stalls, and as they carry in addition the freedom of the streets f-:r the dav, we feel certain they will be purchased freely. All sorts of delicacies ami useful articles will bo for sale on the stalls also, and the public will no doubt avail themselves of this opportunity of restocking their cupboards.' Mrs E, S. Clarke and other workeis from Woodhaugh and Maori Hill make a special appeal for gifts for to-morrow's demonstration. They will b> extremely grateful for donations of any desciption. but more particularly flowers, vegetables, scones, cakes, and jams. The stall will be situated at the corner of Duke and George streets. We have received for the leather waistcoat fund £1 from Mr W. Breen, 10s from Mrs Breen, and £2 from Mr Breen's employees. In the latest Gazette it is notified that the following alterations have been made in the names of the four divisions of the Agricultural Department:-—Fields and Experimental Farms Division, to Fields Division; Live Stock and Meat Division, to Live Stock Division; Orchards, Gardens, and Apiaries Division, to Horticulture Division; and Dairy Produce Division, to Dairy Division. It is announced that the control of the Waerenga, Tan-ra-nga, and Arataki Experimental Farms has been transferred from the Fields Division to the Horticulture Divi.Von, and that in future these places will be known as horticultural stations instead of experimental farms. The name of the Waerenga establishment has-been altered to Te Kauwhata, the full designation thus becoming Te Kauwhata Horticultural Station.
