At a meeting of the directors of Stadiums, Ltd., on May 25, Jeff Smith was adjudged by this board of directors guilty of a deliberate foul in the contest with Les Darcy at the Sydney Stadium on the previous Saturday evening. In consequence whereof the management of the Stadiums decided to pub into operation a clause in the contracts of'all boxers figuring in bouts under their control, ami debar Jeff Smith from any more bouts under their control, •furthermore, it was decided, in the term? of a similar clause in the contracts, to withhold the payment of Smith’s percentage of the night’s takings (£464). and to hand this money over - to one of the patriotic funds.
