No increase will be made in the schedule of fares from New Zealand to London. She is 1 timed to leave Sydney on September 24. and the port of call in South Africa has not yet been decided on. Vessels that have been known under three different names are not uncommon nowadays, but few of them visit Australasian waters after having had the name changed on three occasions in such a brief period as the barque Tridonia. As the Jean Bart this vessel was on a visit to South Australia about two or three years ago, when she went ashore near i Wardang Island. From the first her I position was regarded as serious, so she | was. offered for sale by auction, and the well-known wheat firm, Messrs Jus. Roll and Go,, secured her at a very reasonable figure. Salvage work was immediately begun, and in a short while the barque was floated again and on her way to Melbourne, where she was docked and repaired. A tempting offer w'as made Messrs J. Bell and Co. while the vessel was at the Victorian port, and it being accepted, the vessel sailed as the Heinz. She made two voyages under the new ownership, but on. the outbreak of war was in British waters, and. being sunzed, was eventually sold. The new owners decided to rename her. and she became . the Tridonia, and as such, will take a cargo of maize from Cape Town to Sydney. and subsequently visit Newcastle" to load coal for Portland (0.).
