The usual monthly meeting of the Ota go A. and P. Society was neid last, night, and was attended by the following:—Messrs T. T. Ritchie (president), Arthur John.--.on, Ja.s. Smith, W. J. A letter was received from the Dunedin City Council asking the society's c:M>per,itiou in the matter of getting the Rtiilway to acquire the Taint na Pa.rk branch railway, v. hi eh was at present vested in the I'uuedin City Council.—Referred to Grounds Committee -to report. Of ago Fanners' Co-operative Association thanking them for the use of their horse bazaar, which was used by the O-jvi mnen! veterinary officers in examining the horses entered for the Wrk'ht. Stephenson Challenge Cup. The Catlins-Tahakona Railway League wrote thanking the society for assistance rendered durii:g the Winter Rhow.—Received. The appointment of an umpire in the event of the j'idges failing to come to a, unanimous decision at the lmrso paradei was left in the hands of the marshals and stewards to arrange. A letter war received from the Canterbury Metropolitan A. and P. Association supporting the action of the Otago Society in their endeavor to prevent exploitation and the undue inflation of prices by speculators in farm produce.
