BRITISH ISLES DEFEAT BELGIUM.

In the preliminary round of the Davis Cup contest at FoJkstone Roper-Barrett and Mavrogordato defeated. Watson and Du Vivier, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.
[By winning both their singles matches on Tuesday and the doubles yesterday the British Isles put Belgium out of the contest.]
The British Isles, winners of the preliminary tie with Belgium, will play France" at Wimbledon on the 11th, 13th, and 14th inst., and if successful they will sail for America by the Baltic on the 16th. The Australasian team leave by the Aquitania on the 11th; play Canada on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th; and, presuming the team win, play Germany on the 30th and 31st inst. and August Ist. Australasia or Germany will be called upon to play the winner of the British Isles-Fraaioo contest on the 6th, 7th, and Bth August. After that will come the great fight with the United States for the cup, which. Australasia is fully expected to lift.
