A public reception was accorded to the New Zealand Rugby team. The speakers included Mr G. Wade, Leader of the Opposition, who supported the claims of the aaateur game. Mr R. D. Isaacs, manager, in replying, gave an assurance that the New Zealanders were truly amateurs. The visitors immediately afterwards started to practise.
