WOOLWICH ARSENAL STRIKE
A SETTLEMENT HOPED FOR. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 6.
Tiic Strike Committee, at Woolwich announce that the remaining 3.000 men working at the arsenal will ho called out, and add that unless tiie dismissed man Lane is reinstated all the other men at Government factories, including Waltham Abbey and Deptford, will bo called out.
.Mr Will Crooks, the Labor member for W odwich, is acting, as mediator, and is hopeful of an immediate settlement.
12,000 MEN ON STRIKE. ALL MACHINERY STOPPED
LONDON, July 6 (Received July 7, at 9.10 a.m.) There are 12,005" strikers at Woolwich.
The bands at the power elation stopped all the machinery. A wild scene occurred when 2,000 men at the gate of the arsenal attacked two non-unionists who were attempting to enter. The police re&ued the non-union-ists.
