THE ASSASSINATIONS
PETTY DISTINCTIONS MAINTAINED IN DEATH. FUNERAL CORTEGE INTERRUPTED BY STORM. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. VIENNA, July 5. The full honors that are due to an Archduke ivere not accorded because the late Archduke was buried with his wife, who was a morganatic spouse. Members of the aristocracy who were not invited were most indignant, inasmuch as the Duchess belonged to the old nobility. Over 100 uninvited members of the Austrian and Hungarian aristocracy waited in the Vienna streets, where they joined the processionun a body. At Poechlam a terrible thunderstorm, accompanied by torrents of rain, delayed the transference of the remains to Arstetten Castle. The order of the procession was disregarded, and everyone took refuge in the railway station, people in the utmost confusion pressing around the coffins. After two hours' delay the cortege resumed, a black-draped ferry boat with great difficulty crossing the river.
